3 Advantages Condoms

Levels of condom use is still low. Though condoms as a contraceptive has three advantages with high levels of effectiveness.

In addition to prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), condoms can also be used as contraception to prevent pregnancy and to improve the effectiveness of other contraceptive methods. As is known, all methods of family planning, even sterilization, has a failure rate. Therefore with a condom effectiveness can be near 100 percent.

"We strongly recommend the use of two contraceptive methods to provide more effective protection. In order to maximize the female condom will prevent pregnancy and protect the infection sexually transmitted disease," says Anne Foster-Rosales, from Planned Parenthood Golden Gate, USA.

Most people infected with STIs do not realize they are infected. Therefore the current use of condoms is more intended to reduce the risk of STIs including HIV / AIDS.
